On November 16, Consulco honoured women who are making their mark in the business arena, as well as every other aspect of daily life, with a special event dedicated to women’s entrepreneurship.

The event was held on the occasion of Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, in the presence of the Commissioner for Gender Equality, Josie Christodoulou, and US Ambassador to Cyprus, Julie D. Fisher, with the speakers highlighting the need to integrate the principles of equality in all aspects of organisations and businesses operating in Cyprus.

In statements as part of the event, Commissioner for Gender Equality, Mrs. Josie Christodoulou congratulated Consulco on the initiative, and analysed women’s role in the business sector today. According to Mrs. Christodoulou, despite the important steps forward, discrimination and inequality are still pervasive, while there is still much more room for progress.

In her speech, US Ambassador, Julie D. Fisher, thanked Consulco for the invitation to visit the firm’s offices, which are close to the US Embassy, while she referred to the policies being carried out by the USA to encourage and empower women’s entrepreneurship.

On his part, Consulco’s CEO, Mr. Marios Hajiroussos, pointed out that the event was dedicated to Consulco’s female employees, who make a significant contribution to the company’s progress and development on a daily basis, as well as all the women who make life better.

It should be noted that the statue of a woman, created by renowned Cypriot artist Panayiotis Spanos, was also unveiled as part of the event. The statue is dedicated to the Consulco female professionals for their ongoing contribution to the firm’s success and it has been installed in the reception of our Headquarters in Nicosia.
