Consulco is currently in the process of recruiting a Recoveries Manager for its Credit business, which is the Group’s flagship investment product providing access to London’s lucrative short and medium-term lending market.

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Head of Credit and joining a strong team of professionals with legal, finance and banking backgrounds. The team works intensely with external finance, credit lawyers and other professionals both in the UK and Cyprus to support the firm’s lending, underwriting, funding, suppliers and litigation processes.

Consulco maintains fully fledged offices in Cyprus and London and while the position is based in Nicosia periodical travelling to London may be required.

Role Summary:

The Recoveries Manager will be responsible for leading the recovery efforts of bridge finance loans that are in default or delinquent. This role involves implementing strategies to recover outstanding debts and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit management, debt recovery, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for recovering bridge finance loans in default.
  • Develop and implement recovery strategies to maximize debt collection and minimise losses.
  • Review and analyse delinquent accounts to determine appropriate recovery actions.
  • Negotiate repayment plans with borrowers and oversee the collection process.
  • Monitor and track progress on recovery efforts, ensuring timely and effective resolution of delinquent accounts.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel, external agencies, and other stakeholders to escalate recovery efforts when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of all recovery activities and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on recovery performance to senior management.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in recovery operations.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in debt recovery.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification in credit management is a plus.
  • At least 5 years proven experience in credit management, debt recovery, or collections, with a focus on bridge finance loans.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and coach team members.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with borrowers and external partners.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements in the financial services industry.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess data, trends, and performance metrics to drive recovery strategies.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools for tracking and managing recovery activities.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in Greek and English language.
